Grades K-3 • Playing meets pedagogy in this collection of powerfully productive lesson plans, precision-crafted by Artie Grace Almeida and up-and-coming educator Katie Grace Miller. Using the manipulatives that are at the core of this resource, your students will point their way to an understanding of numerous music concepts. We think that's a great idea and are pleased to bring you the interactive whiteboard versions of many of the lessons from these favorite resources. Choose between Promethean or SMART software, and the rest is done for you. The whiteboard applications bring the original lessons to life through the use of colorful visuals and interactive tutorials and quizzes not found in the print edition. Don't have an interactive whiteboard? A PowerPoint version is provided with both editions, so pick the version that you hope to have someday, and until then you can use the slide-show lessons with any computer or projector to enhance your "Mallet Madness" experience.

 Grades 4–8 • Artie’s Jazz Pack includes a CD for use with the guided-listening activities, Teacher’s Guide with seven reproducible worksheets, and manipulatives for Jazz Term Concentration and Jazz Term Flashcards. 36 copies of the activity boards The Instruments of Jazz and Jazz Styles Dial are also provided, as are an overview of jazz styles, two WebVisits, a list of historical jazz greats and current jazz voices, and listening library and children’s literature suggestions. These teaching tools, all of which have been classroom-tested for appeal and effectiveness, will provide you with the necessary materials to teach your students about jazz in an enjoyable and effective manner. You may use any individual component by itself, or utilize the entire kit for a complete jazz instructional unit.

Includes over 120 exercises and melodies (folk, pop and original songs), as well as technique tips and beginning music theory. Familiar songs have the words included (sometimes more than 1 verse is given). Vocabulary, theory, rhythm or technique concepts, as well as new notes, are highlighted in train car pictures (the Vocabulary Express, for example). Helpful tips and questions about the music are given throughout the book. A "Superstar Express" challenge page is included at the end of the book. Each piece shows the correct track to use on the CD (when applicable), and how many measures of introduction are used for each accompaniment.
